The Guild of All Souls is asked to raise funds to provide the necessary ornaments of mourning to be used at funerals and other Masses and Office of the Dead.  These include catafalque and funeral pall, unbleached candles, wooden processional cross and candlesticks, altar coverings and frontals, and purple drapery.

Annual Guild Dinner

November 1

The annual dinner of the Guild of All Souls shall be held after the Vespers of the Dead on All Saints Day.

The Guild of All Souls

Monthly Votive Requiem Mass

Each month our Chaplain offers a Requiem Mass for the Holy Souls in Purgatory whose names have been submitted by the members of the Guild of All Souls.  Members are asked to attend this Mass if possible, and if not, to make a spiritual Communion and offer a Rosary or part of the Office of the Dead  on that day.

Annual Cemetery Procession

Each year, usually on the Sunday in the Octave of All Saints, the Guild of All Souls organizes a procession in a Catholic cemetery somewhere in the Cincinnati-Dayton area.  Our procession will include the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary and other Prayers for the Departed.

The Month of November

November is of course the Month of the Holy Souls, and the Guild is especially active this month.  In addition to the annual Cemetery Procession, the Guild begins the month with Vespers of the Dead on All Saints Day, followed by its Annual Guild Dinner.  The next day, if resources permit, members attend the Three Requiems and chant the Office of the Dead (or Dirge).
